Just for a little extra information:
The Cisco Network Academy program provides an online curriculum used in both secondary and post secondary schools to teach the skills necessary to build and manage computer networks.
Lauri,
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you are modeling the use of Web 2.0 tools by using tools like Survey Monkey to gather data. I also think your evaluation is very specific and that will provide you with data that will lead you in the direction of implementing effective changes. Great plan!
Lauri I think this is a great idea especially where technology is going the students as well as the teachers need to stay up to date on Web 2.0 technologies. The order of direction that you are taking is a very detailed approach especially the section of having training on the technologies like blogs, website design, etc. It's just with this type of topic you would constantly have to train and that might prove to be very costly. Overall the only thing i would do is budget for more training and if you are not able to do it in person due to budget constraints then I would go towards a more economical approach and try having an online Skype training and see how that would work for you. Great job Lauri.

ReplyDeleteI am doing a similar research study. I know it will be very beneficial indeed. I see your are using Survey Monkey. If your school and staff is like mine, they are really busy. I think I'm going to include interviews as well. This way I can get feedback quickier at times with oportunities for clarification. I also teach computer classes, so I am going to ask for feeback from my students. Will you show some cool features that will interest the students and staff? I think that helping them buy in will be beneficial to you in the long run as well. Good luck!
